History of Four Pillars of Destiny Four Pillars of Destiny is commonly known as Ba Zi ( literally means 8 characters ) in chinese society. It uses the solar system to calculate and predict one's life destiny based on the " year" as master. This method was derived from ancient Master Li Xu Zhong of Tang Dynasty. Ancient Master Xu Zi Ping of Song Dynasty subsequently altered the basis of reading using the " day" as master. It remains as the most popular method in use today.
Information Required As each of the Four Pillars of Destiny represent time ( hour ), day, month and year of birth, consequently these birth datas are required. Differentiation of gender is also required due to differing luck cycle between male and female.
Formation of 4P of Destiny ( Ba Zi ) Each pillars is formed by 2 characters-the upper, known as Heavenly Stem ( cosmic influence ) and the lower Earthly Branch ( earth-environmental influence ). The dynamic interaction between the cosmic ( total of 10 characters ) and earthly ( total of 12 characters ) factors through its yin-yang and 5 elements ( water, wood, fire, earth and metal ) properties determine one's life.
